ANZ was founded on 2nd of March, 1835 with the name of The Bank of Australasia in Launceston, Tasmania and The
Union Bank of Australia was established in 1837 which was Anglo-Australian bank. ANZ was formed in 1951 after the merger of both the banks. In 1968, ANZ also opens their office in New York, USA. ANZ bought Bank of Adelaide in 1979; whereas in 1984, they purchased Grindlays Bank. After five years, in 1989 company purchased Post bank from New Zealand Government. ANZ had launched their website www.anz.com in 1996; whereas internet banking was started in 1999. In 2000, they acquired Amerika Samoa Bank. In 2010, they acquired
