Columbus Zoo is Associated With and Known as:
Columbus zoo is originally named as Columbus Zoo and Aquarium. Columbus Zoo and Aquarium were situated on West Powell Road, Powell, Ohio, United States. It was started in the year 1927. Columbus Zoo and Aquarium is spread in an area of about 580 acres. Columbus Zoo has the oldest and largest region in North America region. The newest region that opened in the year 2010 was the Polar Frontier.
Exhibits Inside Zoo
The zoo has more than 6300 animals like Eastern Hellbender, Golden Frog, African Gray Parrot, Kiwi,
Rainbow Lorikeet, Red Crowned Crane, Damsel, Epawlette Shark, African Lion, Amur Tiger, Arctic Fox, African Leopard, Blood Python and Canebrake Rattlesnake. This zoo has two members namely: Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) and World Association of Zoos and Aquariums (WAZA). It hosts various exhibitions; some of them are Voyage to Australia and the Islands, Shores, North America, Asia Quest, Pachyderms and African Forest. Polar Frontier region was marked for the animals that are native in cooler region. The animals include polar bear, Arctic Fox, Brown Bear and Reindeer. There are 13 large exhibits that feature wetlands and migratory birds’ sanctuary in North America region. It also has train ride facility that travels through exhibits region.
