History
The airline was founded on 5 March, 1929 by Chilean
Air Force Commodore Arturo Merino Benitez with a name Linea Aeropostal Santiago-Arica. The airline got its new name,
Lan Airlines on 17 June, 2004. The LAN has its headquarters in Las Condes, Santiago Province, Chile. In 2005, the airline launched its new subsidiary LAN Argentina to operate domestic and international flights.
