The Worcester Regional Transit Authority (WRTA) is a public transportation service providers located in Worcester, Massachusetts. The WRTA was organized under Chapter 161B of the Massachusetts General Laws in September, 1974. According to this act, many other regional transit authorities were organized in Massachusetts with the Pioneer Valley Transit Authority and Greater Attleboro-Taunton Regional Transit Authority and among others.
The WRTA offers its fixed-route transport service for Auburn, Boylston, Brookfield, East Brookfield, Holden, Leicester, Millbury, Oxford, Shrewsbury, Spencer, Webster, West Boylston and Worcester. Para transit service also provide by WRTA in Central Massachusetts to 37 communities. To make high quality busses, The WRTA will receive 39 million dollars from federal grant money. Received money also utilized for converting existing bus fleet to electric. The WRTA is considered as Developers of operation of mass transportation facilities and services.
Administrator of the WART is responsible for handle all operations in company which is elected by advisory Board Consists of Mayor of each city or The City Manager of Worcester, the Town Manager and Advisory Board members.
